Screen shots
3D Outside the Box is designed to have as simple a user interface as possible. Below are a few screen shots:

3DOB's user interface when editing a scene. It provides one main view for editing, and four "thumbnails" off to the side that let you quickly switch between views. (You can also have several 3DOB windows opened editing the same house and on different monitors.) The buttons around the display allow for fast access to all the features; the top row of buttons allows you to change the view and move the camera. The right column lets you save the open and close files. The bottom row is for moving objects around in the world. And, the left column is for selecting objects and clipboard operations.

This is the object editing screen. Notice that it's almost exactly the same as the house editing window. 3DOB comes with hundreds of objects and allows you to easily build your own.

The polygon mesh editor lets you:

The bone editor lets you easily create bones and control their envelopes.

The animation timeline lets you easily produce animations. Every object in 3DOB has attributes, such as its location and rotation. The animation timeline lets you control how those attributes change over time. The timeline displays keyframes or a graphs of the attributes for several objects at once.

The painting view lets you paint directly onto your 3D objects. You can not only paint color, but also bumps, specularity, transparency, and glow.

The ground editor makes it easy to create different topographies, such as mountains, hills, and canyons. It also supports texture painting and forests, so you can build your landscape in no time.

The wave editor lets you easily record and edit audio for your animation. It also includes a simple speech recognizer that can auomatically determine where phonemes begin and end, making lip synchronization a sinch.
